CHS Family & Consumer Science Night
Features Mock Wedding, Fashion Show
Community High School will showcase its Family and Consumer Science programs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at 326 Joliet Street in West Chicago. A few highlights of the evening include a mock wedding, a fashion show, homemade goodies, and a singing performance by the Wildcat pre-schoolers.
The mock student wedding will be performed by the Contemporary Life class. Students planned the wedding, prepared invitations and decorations and will play the parts of the wedding party. Ashley Hickman was chosen to play this year's bride, and Francisco Mercado will play the groom.
The fashion show will feature clothing designed and modeled by Clothing and Advanced Clothing students. Students in Foods I and II classes are preparing wedding cookies, wedding cake and additional cakes to be raffled at the event. Child Development students have organized the performance by the pre-school children. Family and Consumer Science classes are taught by Cara Blevins, Patty Clifford and Patti Kozlowski.
Admission is $3 in advance and $4 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the SkillsUSA Scholarship fund. The events will take place in The Commons. Please enter from entrance H at the south end of the high school.
