Senator Roskam to speak at Hike for Life rally
Springfield, IL – State Senator Peter Roskam (R-Wheaton) will celebrate Father’s Day weekend by speaking to participants in the CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage annual Hike for Life fundraiser.
The Hike for Life is a 1.5 mile hike that raises money for CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing women with counseling and pregnancy resources in the event of an unplanned pregnancy. This year is the first year the event has taken place on Father’s Day weekend.
Roskam will speak to the more than 1,000 hikers at about 9:30 a.m. The Hike will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday at Memorial Park in Wheaton.
When: 7:30 a.m. – Noon, Saturday, June 18
Where: Memorial Park, located at the corner of Wheaton Avenue and Union Avenue in Wheaton.
The hikers collect pledges for the hike in order to raise money for CareNet. The money raised will be used to help the organization provide, free pregnancy tests, ultrasound services, 24 hour helpline, peer pregnancy support, abstinence education programs, diapers, formula and baby clothes, and emotional and spiritual parenting support.
