Alyssa Claude has been chosen Student of the Month for April at Community High School in West Chicago. Alyssa has been a member of FBLA for the past two years of which she has served as Historian during her senior year. Alyssa took first in State Parliamentary Procedures for FBLA her junior year, and ranked first in State during her senior year in State Emerging Business Issues for FBLA. Because of her first place ranking this year, Alyssa has qualified to attend the National competition in Orlando, Florida this summer. In addition to FBLA, Alyssa has been a member of the Student Council all four years here at Community High School. Alyssa also was a member of the Pep Club during her junior year. Alyssa participated in the Adopt-A-Family program the past two years as well as FrostyFest. Alyssa’s service to Community High School does not stop there. Alyssa served as an Ambassador, was Prom Committee Chair during her junior year, and contributed her talents to the Yearbook.

Academically, Alyssa has proven to be an exemplary student. She has been on the High Honor Roll all four years and was chosen a member of the National Honor Society in her junior year. Alyssa served as a Peer Tutor in the Foreign Language department during her junior and senior year.

In athletics, Alyssa participated in volleyball and softball all four years. She was voted Most Improved in volleyball this past year, and was Captain of the softball team during her sophomore year. Alyssa also played on the girls basketball team her freshman and sophomore years. As a result of her hard work, Alyssa received Academic All Conference honors junior and senior years. Alyssa also acted as Athletic Trainer during her junior year.

Before continuing her education at the University of Iowa to study radiology, Alyssa plans to travel to Germany. Alyssa is the daughter of Darwin and Ann Claude of Carol Stream. She will be honored at the May 17 CHS Board of Education meeting, and her photo will be included in the school's Students-of-the-Month display.
