The regular meeting of the Board of
was held on the 1st Thursday of the month, May 5, 2005.
Board Members in attendance: Sue Stibal, Joseph Lach, Chris Scheck, Sharon
Katrine Maguire, Dave Barclay
Pioneer students from Ms. Sara Rupp's G.A.T.E. classes presented their original poetry.
There were no comments from anyone in attendance during the public comment portion of the agenda.
New Business - Discussion with Possible Future Action
The Board of Education reviewed/discussed the following informational items:
- process the Board of Education will use when hearing staff presentations.
- truancy and immunization policies and procedures of the district.
- list of possible vision areas for the Strategic Design Plan for the District.
- recommendation from the Facilities Committee regarding an addition to Wegner School and long term operations and maintenance projects. An informational meeting is scheduled for May 24, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at Wegner School, to inform the public of options the Board of Education is considering for possible facility expansion.
Report of District Committee Meetings
The Board of Education received reports on the Faculty Advisory Committee meeting of April 25, 2005; the SASED Board of Control meeting of April 27, 2005; the Strategic Design Plan Committee meeting of April 29, 2005; and the Legislative Committee.
Review of Upcoming Meetings/Events
The Board of Education members reviewed upcoming meetings and events.
Mrs. Sharon Jones indicated her intent to resign her position as board member, likely in June, 2005.
The Board of Education went into closed session to discuss information regarding litigation matters, and the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees.
The next Regular Board Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 19, 2005,
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
